The Van Lear Historical Society INC. was incorporated in 1982 by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The organization's headquarters are located at 78 Miller's Creek Road in the former Consolidation Coal Company's office building in central Van Lear.We are dedicated to preserving the history of the community for it's former, present, and future citizens. We strive to educate the general public about life in a 20th century "company owned" coal town.
